Welcome

I graduated from Bastyr University as a Naturopathic physician in 1983. I started out practicing in a small community on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State where I also worked as the coordinator of a program called SafeHome to provide services for persons experiencing domestic violence and victims of sexual assault. After a brief stint in Connecticut, I moved to Anchorage, Alaska where I enjoyed a warm relationship with numerous conventional and alternative medical providers for 17 years. I wrote numerous articles and made a number of presentations for professional audiences.

In 2007 I made the leap a bit further north to Fairbanks. I am able to provide a full range of naturopathic services in my office at the Spaulding Professional building in downtown Fairbanks.

Naturopathic Doctors

Naturopathic physicians combine the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. Steeped in traditional healing methods, principles and practices, naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, we help facilitate the body's inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health. It is the naturopathic physician's role to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create a healing internal and external environment.

NDs treat all medical conditions and can provide both individual and family healthcare. Licensed naturopathic physicians have attended four-year graduate-level programs at accredited institutions, where they are educated in the same basic sciences as allopathic physicians. Graduates from naturopathic medical schools must pass the comprehensive naturopathic physicians licensing examination (NPLEX) to be licensed as licensed health care providers.
